Shahid Afridi wishes to follow Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Shahid Afridi, the Pakistan’s new test skipper has now turned to follow the famous world supreme team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Shahid Afridi – I will never deny to the fact that the Indian team was not in a good shape in world cup 2010 and specially being a team captain MS Dhoni is held responsible for all the consequences, particularly when it comes to the team’s defeat and the pride of the nation.

But failing in just a tournament doesn’t mean that that Dhoni or his team has lost their skills or talent. The talent and caliber of such a chief remains intact. The changes are only the situations and the team efforts. I too believe that a captain’s performance may assist to boost up the whole team and rise to their performing level. As cricket is a team game and there are times when situations are slipped above your head. I couldn’t understand why the masses cannot understand that losing and winning are the two hands of a game. Instead of blaming the chief they could have supported him and opposed to change the Indian team captain.

“As a captain it is my responsibility to lead from the front. When the captain performs, the whole team gets charged up and it has an impact on the other players,” said Afridi.

“Dhoni was a junior player when he became captain (in 2007) but with his performances, he established his authority on the seniors. I am not a junior, but I want to lead from the front like him,” said Afridi.

Hence, I would always appreciate and consider MS Dhoni as man of talent and aptitude. In my eyes no one can replace Ms Dhoni at this ultimate level of captainship.
